Learn to make your own trainers! In this class Alex will show you how to work with leather and hand-stitch your own trainers, starting with a rubber sole from Sneakerkit.
There are four styles to choose from: super low rise, low rise, high rise or super high rise trainers. Each style is made with two side panels, a back strap and a tongue. We will provide a variety of leather options to choose from to customise your trainers. We will also show you stitching options to personalise them.
The unisex size range is 36.5, 37.5, 39, 40, 41.5, 43, 44.5.
We will send you a template of the sole after booking so you can check which size will be most suitable for you.
Alex is a leading UK style and sewing blogger living in London with an accomplished back catalogue of sustainable wardrobe creations. She runs the hugely successful blog Sewrendipity, was on BBC's Great British Sewing Bee and also runs the popular "Introduction to Overlocking" stages 1 & 2 workshops.
No previous experience is required. However using the punch tools and sewing leather requires hand-strength and dexterity.
